Alan Albert
Mr. Alan Albert currently serves as the Acting Chief of the Manufacturing, Industrial Technologies and Energy Division at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), where he leads strategic efforts to advance innovative manufacturing and energy solutions in support of Air Force and Department of Defense missions.
Mr. Albert has over two decades of experience in defense research, development, and acquisition. Prior to his current role, he served as Chief of the Functional Systems Manufacturing Branch at AFRL, where he oversaw programs focused on enabling next-generation manufacturing capabilities for critical Air Force platforms.
Before rejoining AFRL in 2019, Mr. Albert worked as a Technical Program Manager at Riverside Research, supporting national defense R&D initiatives. He previously held several key leadership positions within the United States Air Force, including Materiel Leader for Advanced Programs at the Sensors Directorate, Chief of Agile Combat Support Capability Development and Integration at Air Force Materiel Command, and Deputy Program Manager for the Space Fence Program at Hanscom Air Force Base.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Albert contributed to materials and manufacturing innovation as the Lead for Aircraft Low Observable Nondestructive Evaluation at AFRL and deployed as a Quality Assurance Representative with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) in Iraq.
Mr. Albert earned a Master's degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. His career reflects a deep commitment to advancing science and technology solutions that strengthen national defense and industrial resilience.
