Director, Operations and Logistics Readiness, HQDA G-43/5/7, United States Department of the Army

Brigadier General Landis C. Maddox assumed duties as the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) G-43/5/7 (Operations, Readiness Plans, Integration, & Strategy) in support of the HQDA Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, on 2 July 2025. He is a Texas native, who was born in South Carolina, and commissioned in the Quartermaster Corps upon graduating from the United States Military Academy in 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University.

Brigadier General Maddox’s command assignments include Commander, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support; Commander, Joint Munitions Command; Commander, 25th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade; Commander, Special Troops Battalion, 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC); and Commander, 110th Quartermaster Company, 260th Quartermaster Battalion.

His key staff assignments include Chief, Logistics Operations, Task Force Multi-National Division Center, Operation Iraqi Freedom; Deputy G-4, 10th Mountain Division; Battalion Executive Officer, 210th Brigade Support Battalion, 10th Mountain Division; J-4 Chief of Petroleum Operations and Chief of Current Operations, United States Forces Korea; Strategic Staff Officer for the Logistics Initiative Group in the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) G-4; Assistant Chief of Staff G-5, 8th Theater Sustainment Command; and Executive Officer to the Commanding General, Army Materiel Command.

In addition, his operational experience includes five deployments to Iraq and one to Kuwait. BG Maddox’s military education and schools include Army War College, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Captains Career Course, and the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course. His military awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 3 device, the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
