
Col Dr. Benjamin "Bach" Bishop, USAF (Ret)
Dr. Benjamin W. Bishop is the Deputy Director of the Adaptive Capacities Office (ACO), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). He leads a team focused on accelerating the delivery of breakthrough capabilities to the national security enterprise.
Dr. Bishop served in the Air Force for 26 years as a fighter pilot, accumulating over 2,700 flight hours, primarily in the F-15E, F-35A, and F-16C/D. He commanded at multiple levels during his career, including the 354th Fighter Wing at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.
Before arriving at DARPA, Dr. Bishop served on the Joint Staff in the Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate (J-5) as the Assistant Deputy Director, Politico-Military Affairs, Europe/NATO/Russia. Additionally, he is an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Center for Security Studies within the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
