Col Guadalupe Resendez, USA
Colonel (COL) Guadalupe "Lupe" Resendez assumed duties as the Director of the Enterprise Operations Division to the J6, for United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM) on 01 May 2024.
COL Resendez is a native of Great State of Michigan and received his commission from the United States (U.S.) Army Officer Candidates School (OCS) at Fort Moore, Georgia. He maintains a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEE) from the University of Michigan.
In April 1988, COL Resendez began his military career as an Enlisted Marine, on the yellow footprints at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA. His deployments included Operations Desert Shield/Storm and JTF-Six (now JTF-Bravo). He served six years in the Marines, then conducted an inter-service transfer to the Army serving another seven years prior to commissioning as an Army Officer.
In 2001, COL Resendez commissioned through OCS and assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He served as a Platoon Leader and Battalion Motor Officer. He later deployed as a Battery Executive Officer in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also deployed as a Fires and Effects Military Advisor for the 9th Iraqi Army serving in Baghdad, Sadr City, and Salmon Pak.
COL Resendez re-designated as a functional area Network Systems Engineer (26A) at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. He served as the Chief Operational Engineer at the 335th Signal Command Oversea Contingency Post (OCP) G3; Current Operations Chief, Senior Network Engineer, and Deputy J6 [Joint Task Force-Odyssey Guard (Libya)] at U.S. Army Africa (USARAF) G6; Enterprise Architecture Chief, Resource Manager, and Senior Network Engineer [CJTF-OIR] at US Army Central (USARCENT) G6; Engineer Branch Chief and C4I Program Manager at United States European Command (USEUCOM) J6; Chief of Operations and Joint Cyberspace Communications Center (JCCC) Director at Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Central; Chief of Cyberspace Operations (Offensive and Defensive) at Joint Forces Headquarters- Cyber (JFHQ-C) in support USAFRICOM.
Officer Military Education: Secretary of the Army Leader Development Seminar, Joint & Combined Warfighting School (JPME-II), Command and General Staff College (ILE), Joint Cyberspace Operational Planners Course, Operational Contracting Course, Telecommunications Systems Engineer Course, Tactical Information/Operations Course, Field Artillery Advanced Course, Military Advisor Course, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, and Officer Candidates School.
His awards and decorations include a Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, and a variety of unit and campaign awards and decorations. Recipient of the Army Signal Corps Regimental Association's "Bronze Order of Mercury Award".
