Col Jerrid Allen, USA
COL Allen is a native of Modesto, California. He received his commission as an Engineer Officer from the United States Military Academy in 2001. He is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic and Career Courses, Air Assault School, Intermediate Level Education, Defense Strategy Course, School of Advanced Military Studies, and US Army War College. In 2018 he transitioned to be a Functional Area 59 (FA59) Strategist.
COL Allen is currently the US Army Europe and Africa Chief of Plans. Prior to this assignment he was the Combined Forces Command (CFC) Chief of Alliance Plans in Korea where he led a combined team in the planning, rewrite, and approval of the Bilateral US/ROK OPLAN for the defense of Korea. Prior key assignments as an FA59 were Executive Officer to the HQDA Director of Strategy, Plans, and Policy, Army Staff Strategic Planner, US Army Europe and Africa Deputy Chief of Plans, and USAFRICOM J35 Joint Planner.
Key operational assignments as an Engineer Officer include Battalion Executive Officer, 39th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team 101st Airborne Division, Company Commander, 9th Engineer Battalion, 172d Infantry Brigade with service in OIF 08-10, Engineer Observer/Controller/Trainer at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center Hohenfels, Germany, and Platoon Leader, 14th Engineer Battalion, 555th Engineer Group with service in OIF 1.
COL Allen holds a Masters of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, Master of Military Arts and Sciences degree from the School of Advanced Military Studies, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Louisville, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy. His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal (one oak leaf cluster), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (two oak leaf clusters), the Joint Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (one oak leaf cluster), the Air Assault Badge, and the Army Staff Identification Badge.
He is married to Dorothea Allen from Bamberg, Germany and has three children, his oldest daughter Kaesha (25), youngest daughter Mia (14), and son Mason (13).
