Darren Kimura is the CEO and President of AI Squared, an NEA-backed company that helps large organizations integrate AI securely into the applications they already use, increasing adoption and alignment to mission. AI Squared is delivering production-grade AI for the U.S. Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the Space Community, as well as for some of the largest regulated financial services organizations, with an emphasis on governance, auditability, and measurable ROI.

A three-time CEO, Darren previously led LiveAction a dual-use leader in network performance and security. He has also founded and built clean energy and enterprise software companies, guiding multiple ventures through rapid growth and successful private and public exits. Beyond his operating roles, Darren has been an active venture capitalist, investing in 18 start-ups, with three IPOs. He has served on numerous boards across cybersecurity, enterprise AI, and energy, and regularly advises investors and policymakers on AI’s operational realities.

An alumni of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an Eagle Scout, Darren is completing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. He is an inventor with 14 patents and a frequent speaker on AI deployment, defense innovation, and executive leadership. His work and insights have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and other leading technology and business outlets worldwide.
