
Dr. Alexander Miller, SES
Dr. Alexander Miller serves as the Senior Science and Technology Advisor and Chief Information Officer to the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of the Army, where he leads strategic initiatives in data, architecture, and process modernization. His career began in 2008 as a contractor supporting the Army’s Language and Technology Office, later transitioning to civil service. He has since held key technical advisory roles across the Army intelligence enterprise, contributing to operations including IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and RESOLUTE SUPPORT. His work has included deploying tactical communications systems to combat zones, modernizing intelligence architecture, and delivering advanced analytics and data services.
Dr. Miller earned his B.S. and Doctor of Technology from Purdue University and holds an M.S. in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. His research has been published by Purdue’s CERIAS and InnovatED Graduate Research Magazine, focusing on biometrics, blockchain, and supply chain resilience. Outside of his professional work, he actively supports philanthropic causes and competes in ultra-endurance events.
