Dr. Kamel Saidi
Dr. Kamel Saidi is a Supervisory Mechanical Engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where he leads the Sensing and Perception Systems Group and serves as Acting Program Manager for Measurement Science for Robotics and Autonomous Systems.
He conducts research on performance metrics for robotic perception, dexterity, autonomy, and safety in manufacturing and emergency response applications. He also leads remote sensing and visualization for the Champlain Towers South collapse investigation as part of the National Construction Safety Team. Previously, he spent a decade advancing construction automation systems and holds a U.S. patent for a tele-operated boiler maintenance robot.
Dr. Saidi earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and both M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
