Dr. Kevin Dixon
Dr. Kevin R. Dixon is the Director of the Applied Information Sciences (AIS) center at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He leads research and application of advanced techniques in artificial intelligence, computational analytics, cyber threat hunting, human systems, and statistical sciences to support high-impact national security decision-making. His team focuses on core capabilities including Patterns of Life, Cyber Analytics, Human Performance Research, Information Integrity, and Statistical Sciences, collaborating with academic, industry, and laboratory partners to address complex security challenges.
Prior to this role, Dr. Dixon was Senior Manager of the Mission Analytics Group at Sandia, providing data science, analytics, and machine learning support across national security missions. From 2012 to 2016, he managed the Special Analytic Initiatives department, focusing on big data analytics and cyber vulnerability assessments. He began his career at Sandia in 2004 as technical staff, leading projects in behavior-based cyber threat detection, autonomous vehicles, and biometric identification.
Dr. Dixon has also held positions at ABB Corporate Research in Sweden and the startup Advanced Navigation & Positioning Corporation in Oregon.
