Dr. Mark Maybury
Dr. Mark Maybury is Vice President of Commercialization, Engineering, and Technology at Lockheed Martin Corporation, where he leads innovation and technology strategy across the enterprise. He previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Stanley Black & Decker and held senior leadership roles at MITRE Corporation, including Vice President of Intelligence Portfolios, Chief Security Officer, and Director of the National Cybersecurity FFRDC.
From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Maybury served as Chief Scientist of the U.S. Air Force, advising the Secretary and Chief of Staff on scientific and technical matters impacting operations, acquisition, and strategy. He engaged with senior leaders across DoD and chaired or supported numerous Air Force Scientific Advisory Board and Defense Science Board studies.
An expert in artificial intelligence and information systems, Dr. Maybury began his career as a U.S. Air Force officer. He has authored over 60 publications, edited 10 books, and holds multiple U.S. patents. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross and both an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Cambridge University.
