Dr. Suzette Johnson
Dr. Suzette Johnson serves as Chair of NDIA’s Systems Engineering Division and as Northrop Grumman Fellow, Lean-Agile Digital within Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector. In this role, she works across the organization and with divisions and business units to support programs and functions in the adoption and implementation of Lean-Agile principles, processes, and digital capabilities.
As a Certified Agile Enterprise Coach and government Scaled Agile Program Consultant Trainer, she is passionate about advancing Lean-Agile practices to achieve stronger mission outcomes. Her experience with Agile-related practices began nearly 25 years ago with rapid product development in the commercial sector for financial and enterprise management systems. Over the past 15 years, she has supported more than 100 Northrop Grumman internal, federal, and Department of Defense programs—both domestic and international—in their transition and maturation of Agile principles and engineering practices.
Dr. Johnson has co-authored multiple papers and a best-selling book on Industrial DevOps, expanding Lean, Agile, DevOps, and digital capabilities into cyber-physical systems. She received her Doctorate of Management Technology from the University of Maryland, with a dissertation on the impact of leadership styles on software project outcomes in both traditional and agile environments, and most recently completed a certificate program in Digital Transformation from MIT.
