Program Director, Manufacturing Technology, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology

Dr. Timothy L. White serves as the Director of the Army Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) Program in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology where he provides oversight of manufacturing efforts focused on improving end item efficiency and affordability of Army capabilities. The Army ManTech Program has an annual budget of approximately $70M. As part of his responsibilities, he serves as the Army Principal for the Joint Defense Manufacturing Technology Panel and the working member supporting the Joint Defense Manufacturing Council on behalf of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Research and Technology.

Prior to serving as the Army ManTech Program Director, for 16 years, he worked at the DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory (ARL) as a Computer Scientist. At ARL, his research focused on enhancing soldier lethality by investigating novel communication techniques for transmitting critical information to dismounted Soldiers and thereby increase performance and situational awareness.

Dr. White has authored more than 40 journal publications, technical reports, and scientific conference proceedings. He also is the recipient of two Department of the Army Civilian Service Commendation Awards. Dr. White earned his Bachelor of Science (2002) and his Master of Science (2004) degrees from Jackson State University, both in Computer Science. He also earned his Doctor of Philosophy (2016) degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, specializing in Applied Experimental Human Factors.
