John Waterston
In February 2023, John W. Waterston joined the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office, Pentagon, Virginia. He is currently responsible for the three CJADC2 capability lines of effort: Global Experimentation, Data Integration Layer, and Mission Applications. This includes the execution of contracts and resourcing strategy to support these rapid development efforts. The CJADC2 division aims to provide the Combatant Command and Joint Staff enterprise capabilities and services that allow warfighting operators to tap into data to achieve decision advantage.
Prior to his government service, Mr. Waterston was a Senior Program Manager within SRI International’s Advanced Technology and Systems Division. There he led defense research programs in various technical areas to include cyber warfare, remote sensing, and autonomous vehicles. His interest in program management and business strategy began as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Outside of industry, Mr. Waterston serves as a Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserves, where he applies his submarine warfare experience in support of the Naval Research Enterprise.
