European Multidomain Training and Experimentation Capability (EMTEC) - LtCol. Johnathan Boucek, USMC
LtCol Johnathan M. Boucek is the European Multi-Domain Training and Experimentation (EMTEC) Project Lead, and Readiness and Lessons Learned Branch Chief for United States European Command (USEUCOM) J7. He is also a member of the Sensitive Activity Working Group and the Strategy Coordination Cell. He is responsible for leading the EMTEC Team with a clear vision and strategy while advocating for and securing funding. As the Readiness Branch Chief, he supervises the collation of Headquarter and Component Readiness to execute Operational Plans via the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Strategic. His Lessons Learned Team provides the processes and oversight to capture critical lessons learned throughout the USEUCOM AOR and ensure they are shared amongst the broader DoD enterprise.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, LtCol Boucek graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and completed his training at The Basic School, followed by aviation training at NAS Pensacola, NAS Whiting Field, and NAS Meridian, where he was winged as a Naval Aviator in July 2009. Throughout his career, LtCol Boucek fought in operations spanning multiple areas of responsibility, including Operations TOMODACHI, NEW DAWN, ENDURING FREEDOM, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, INHERENT RESOLVE, and OCTAVE QUARTZ. Having logged over 2000 flight hours and 500 carrier arrestments in tactical aircraft, LtCol Boucek accumulated extensive experience in aviation and military operations. He is a TOPGUN Instructor, a Weapons and Tactics Instructor, and a Forward Air Controller. He served in multiple positions developing and planning to Sensitive Activities and integrating Science and Technology with operations and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedure development.
