Joshua Stiefel
Joshua Stiefel is Vice President of Government Relations at Second Front Systems, where he leads engagement with federal stakeholders and drives policy strategies at the intersection of national security, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
Prior to joining Second Front, Josh served as a Professional Staff Member on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) majority staff, overseeing cyber and IT issues, including Department of Defense policy, operations, and procurement. Earlier in his career, he was Senior Cyber Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he led interagency efforts to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of the financial services sector and authored the inaugural Financial Services Cybersecurity Vulnerabilities Study.
Josh began his public service as an intelligence officer and analyst at the Department of Defense, with assignments at the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy and the Joint Staff, for which he received the Joint Civilian Service Achievement Award. In 2011, he deployed to Iraq as a Senior Targeting Officer with U.S. Special Operations Forces, supporting combat operations. He currently serves as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, assigned to the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Josh is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and sits on the boards of the Council for Emerging National Security Affairs (CENSA) and the Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization’s DC Chapter. He holds a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Lehigh University.
