
Lauren Hanyok
Lauren Hanyok serves as the Director of the Capital Tech Bridge at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD), where she leads regional innovation efforts across the National Capital Region. In this role, she connects government, academia, industry, and small businesses to accelerate the development and transition of emerging technologies to the fleet. As part of the Department of the Navy’s broader Tech Bridge network, Lauren also serves as Facilitation Lead for the Secretary of the Navy’s Tech Bridges initiative, helping cross-functional teams unlock solutions through design thinking and human-centered innovation methods.
With nearly two decades at NSWCCD, Lauren has held a wide range of technical and leadership roles. She previously led the Digital Design and Manufacturing Team within the Additive Manufacturing Office, where she helped integrate advanced production methods into naval platforms. Earlier in her career, she spent over a decade as an Aerospace and Ocean Engineer supporting hydrodynamic testing and ship design. Her contributions included leading high-profile international test campaigns and developing new technologies for model testing, including projects supporting NASA’s Orion space capsule.
