Lt Col Jared C. Bindl currently serves as the USAFRICOM Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisor, Kelly Barracks, Germ. after recently completed his graduate studies in the Joint All-Domain Strategy (JADS) and Political Affairs Strategy (PAS) concentrations at Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell AFB, Ala. Before this, he served as the Deputy Chief for Advanced Programs at HQ USAFE-AFAF A3ZZ, Ramstein AB, Germany. In this role, he was responsible for Special Access Program (SAP) multi-domain apportionment for two combatant commands, security oversight of over 1700 personnel, and technical advisement for a $5B classified budget.

Maj Bindl began his Air Force career in 2004 as a B-1 Communication, Navigation, and Mission Systems Technician at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. He was selected for the Airman’s Education Commissioning Program in 2007 and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with honors. Following Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB Base, Ala., he began his first officer assignment with the 36th Electronic Warfare Squadron, Eglin AFB, Fla., in 2011.

During this assignment, Maj Bindl led a 41-member flight responsible for the developmental fielding and testing of electronic warfare software of a $116 billion stealth fleet comprised of F-22s and B-2s, as well as 11 advanced program technologies. Maj Bindl also served as an operational flight test engineer on F-16s and F-15s, flying more than 50 sorties and providing expertise in operational flight program upgrades for the 1,987 combat air forces fleet.

Following this, Maj Bindl’s position culminated as Assistant Director of Operations, 25th Space Range Squadron, Air Force Air Warfare Center, Schriever Air Force Base, Colo. He guided and directed DoD operations of over 70 personnel on Space Test and Training Range (STTR) systems valued at $97M, involving open and closed-loop operations in support of AF, Joint and National space control organizations.

Next, he served as Chief, Enabling Capabilities Branch, Space Control Division, Space Security Defense Program (SSDP), HQ AFSPC. There, he managed cost, schedule, and performance for multiple advanced programs in support of Joint DoD & ODNI organizations established to develop options and strategies (materiel, non-materiel, cross-title, cross-domain) leading to a more resilient National Security Space (NSS) enterprise.

Additionally, Maj Bindl completed the USSOCOM Ghost Deployment Program as Program Manager, Program Executive Office (PEO)Fixed-Wing, Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, MacDill AFB, FL. He deployed as the Scalable Effects Regional Manager in charge of a $133M A2/AD portfolio, enabling elite Joint Task Forces unprecedented global access to enemy territory.
