In April 2024, Nicholas Lanham transitioned to the KAIROS, Inc. team after serving as the lead engineer for the OSD Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s Algorithmic Warfare Directorate. Lanham joins the KAIROS, Inc. team currently serving as the director of the Enterprise Platforms and Data (EPAD) division supporting a variety of Government and commercial customers with developing, delivering, and scaling enterprise platform, data, and AI capabilities. Prior to supporting CDAO as the lead engineer for the Algorithmic Warfare directorate, Lanham served as the Enterprise Platforms and Capabilities division chief as well as the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) for the Advana program. Lanham previously led the product management efforts aligned to the Deputy Secretary of Defense (DSD) Executive Analytic application suite and data acquisition efforts supported by the Advana program’s Data as a Service (DaaS) team. This effort required a close partnership with the DoD CDO and CDAO communities, while working to iterate through one of the Department’s largest data ingestion efforts. Prior to joining the CDAO team, Lanham supported the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) (OUSD(C)), Deputy Comptroller for Enterprise Data & Business Performance (EDBP) Directorate. Prior to supporting OUSD(C), Lanham supported OSD CAPE as a weapon system cost analyst, focusing on a variety of data collection and analytical automation initiatives, and also served as the Director of Cost Research for the Naval Center for Cost Analysis (NCCA). Lanham graduated in 2017 from the Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) and has a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Maryland University College (UMUC). Other prior certifications and awards of note include Level III Financial Management (FM) certification from the DoD Financial Management Certification Program, the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Award, and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Level III certification in the business-cost estimating track. Additionally, Lanham is a cofounder of the CDAO Advana platform.
