Mr. Landauer was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in December 2017 and assumed duties as Director, Resources and Assessments (J8) in January 2024. As the Director, he manages the headquarters' resourcing and requirements processes; allocates and executes funding; facilitates innovation and technological development; and provides critical analysis to deliver the most effective, necessary capabilities to the Command.

Previously, Mr. Landauer served as the Associate DASN for Data & Digital Transformation of Financial Management Systems within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Financial Management and Comptroller (FM&C). Prior to his role as DASN, he served as the Director of Civilian Personnel Resources within the Business Operations and Transformation Division of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy FM&C where he lead a workforce responsible for developing and implementing fiscal policy and reviewing, recommending and revising financial estimates for the Navy Working Capital Fund, civilian personnel, and Information Technology for inclusion in the budget; to include justification of over $50 billion and over 200,000 personnel to the Congress.

Prior to his appointment as to the Senior Executive Service, Mr. Landauer served as the Aviation and Weapons branch head from 2015 to 2017 and the Industrial Operations and Other Funds branch head from 2013 to 2015 within FM&C. His responsibilities included oversight of budget formulation, justification, execution and supervision of a financial management workforce focused in the areas of Navy and Marine Corps development and procurement of aviation, weapons, ammunition, and the Navy Working Capital Funds and Trust funds.

Mr. Landauer served as the Assistant Program Manager for Finance in the COLUMBIA Class Program Office (PMS-397) within Naval Sea Systems Command from 2011 to 2013. His duties covered a broad range of business and acquisition functions, to include budgeting and execution, planning and programming, oversight of major shipbuilding design contracts with a focus on achieving cost targets.

Mr. Landauer began his federal career with the Department of the Navy as a financial management trainee in Naval Sea Systems Command. He has held several staff positions within the OASN (FM&C) covering a variety of areas including the Aviation Depot Maintenance, Flying Hours; Marine Corps Operations, Weapons Procurement, and Shipbuilding.

Mr. Landauer received his Bachelor’s degree from Washington College in Maryland in Economics and Drama. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the George Washington University. He is an active member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers and is currently serving as the Vice President representing Navy on the Executive Committee. Mr. Landauer received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award in 2016, is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute and holds a Level III Certification in DoD Financial Management.

Mr. Landauer and his wife, Christina, live in Stuttgart, Germany with their five children.
