Yvette Jacks
Yvette Jacks serves as the Acting Director of the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC). In this capacity, she provides strategic leadership for DTIC's mission to preserve and share the Department of Defense's scientific and technical information, supporting S&T innovation and capability transition across the DoD enterprise. She leads a team driving DTIC’s digital transformation, incorporating artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance policy, access, and analysis of nearly five million S&T records, and oversees the Defense Information Analysis Centers that support research contracting and technical analysis.
Ms. Jacks previously served as Deputy Administrator and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for DTIC (2017–2025). As CIO, she developed strategies to modernize DTIC’s systems and talent—focusing on cloud computing, AI, and cybersecurity—and expanded DTIC’s workforce through initiatives like the U.S. Digital Corps and Cybersecurity Talent Initiative.
Her federal service includes roles at the U.S. State Department, where she supported Oceans, Environmental and Scientific Affairs; Diplomatic Security; Intelligence and Research; Information Resource Management; and the Executive Secretariat.
Ms. Jacks holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Data Analytics from Southern New Hampshire University. She completed the MIT Quantum Computing Fundamentals program and received the NDU College of Information and Cyberspace Distinguished Graduate Award. She also holds CISSP, ISSMP, CISM, and PMP professional credentials.
