Alexis Lasselle Ross is the President of Apex Defense Strategies, a strategic advisory firm helping companies navigate the defense market through expertise in acquisition, policy, and organizational transformation.

She previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, where she led major policy and reform initiatives, including efforts in healthcare and personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ross also held senior roles at the Army, General Dynamics, and the House Armed Services Committee, focusing on acquisition reform and defense industrial base issues.

Dr. Ross holds a Doctorate in Public Policy from George Mason University, a Master’s from the Naval War College, and a B.A. in International Relations from Bucknell University. She is affiliated with CSIS, NDIA, LCWINS, and the Army Science Board.
