Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, United States Department of the Army

Mr. Jesse Tolleson was appointed as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics & Technology) on 5 May 2025. On 5 May 2025, he assumed responsibility as the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics & Technology). As the Acting ASA(ALT), Mr. Tolleson is the Senior Research and Development official and science advisor for the Secretary of the Army. Additionally, he performs all duties of both the Army Acquisition Executive and Senior Procurement Executive.

Prior to joining ASA(ALT), Mr. Tolleson served as a Professional Staff Member on the Defense Subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He was the lead GOP staff member in conducting budget analysis and program evaluations of over $170 billion portfolio for Army investment and budget accounts; these efforts included funding across procurement and research and development, military personnel, and operation and maintenance. He conducted oversight of over 800 Army Acquisition programs. In that capacity, he prepared background materials for Subcommittee hearings. Mr. Tolleson also drafted bills and reports in support of legislative provisions for the Subcommittee, Full committee, Floor, and Conference deliberations. Lastly, he served as advisor to both Senate and House Republican and Democratic members, and their staff, on national security and budgetary proposals, appropriations and legislative processes.
